Manihot carthaginensis / Marihuri

Common name: Kasabi di Marga, Marihuri, yuka amara
Height: 1.5 - 5 meter
Features: The tree is well adapted to drought conditions and drops it leaves in dry season but you can recoqnise the tree by it stem. The stem is thin, black and smooth and it drops the skin. The flowers are greenish yellow color and unisexual. Male and female flowers grow in the same bunch.

Growing: Once established it does not need much water
Location: Grows best on limestone (clip)
Conservation: Manihot carthaginensis is listed as an endangered species

In the past the seeds were used to make lamp oil.
