Bonaire is one of the best kiteboarding spots in the world. With an average temperature of 30 degrees Celsius, a sea temperature of about 28 degrees Celsius, and consistent (offshore) wind conditions (with an average speed of about 17 to 22 knots) throughout almost the whole year, the spot checks all the boxes of being a perfect kite spot. And don’t be surprised when while kiteboarding on the flat turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea, you’ll come across some turtles and, if you’re lucky, dolphins. Does it get better? Yes, it does! We provide a relaxed chill out area on the beach: Think music, free Wi-Fi, lounge pillows, and cool drinks in between sessions.
Bonaire’s cool Caribbean trade winds provide the right environment for kiteboarding almost 365 days a year. The kiteboarding area is located on the south-west tip of Bonaire and can be found by following the brightly coloured kites soaring through the air. Never been kiteboarding and want to try? There are two schools you can visit or contact; Kiteboarding Bonaire (The Blue Bus) and the Bonaire Kite School (The Yellow Bus). The experienced Kitesurfers usually prefer the conditions around sunset (17:00) for Kitesurfing, around this time the wind turns offshore and becomes more stable.
One of the best spots for kiteboarding on Bonaire is the famous Atlantis Beach (Often refered to as "Atlantis Kite Beach" due to it's popularity with Kite Surfers), this is the reknowned spot for kiteboarders! All the kiteboarders congregrate to this spot to try tricks and you can see their colorful kites swaying in the air.
